  • What’s on your playlist?
    • You’ll probably be pleased to know that we don’t have a playlist. We let our presenters choose Newport’s Best Music Mix.

If you think you can take them on, tell us what you’d prefer to hear here.

  • How can I listen to your station?
    • You an listen to Nova FM if you are in Newport, Shropshire and in the surrounding areas on 97.5 FM.

If you are not in this area you can listen to us on RadioPlayer, on your mobile and computer.

If you chosen device does not support RadioPlayer, you can listen to us on TuneIn Radio.

  • What are you doing to protect my privacy?
    • Your privacy is incredibly important to us. We talk about how we protect your privacy on our Privacy and Cookies pages.

  • I can’t hear you!
    • If you are having trouble listening through our Radioplayer, we recommend running through our handy checklist to see if you can identify the problem. If this doesn’t get you listening, it will provide us with a bit more information to try to help you.

Check that your computer or amplifier is not set to ‘mute’ and that the volume is turned up. If you are not sure, see if you can hear system sounds or audio from other applications.

If you are using external speakers or headphones, check that they are working and plugged in correctly.
Radioplayer requires JavaScript and Adobe Flash Player. Make sure that JavaScript is enabled in your browser (it should be by default) and that you have Flash Player installed.

We recommend that you use the latest version of Flash installed, which is a free download. If you have more than one web browser on your computer, it can also help to try listening in each of them.

If you are still experiencing problems, send us an email. In order for us to help you as quickly as possible, your email should explain what you are seeing on your screen, including any error messages. It also helps us if you include information about the type of computer you are using, the operating system and web browser.

  • How do I complain?
    • We are live 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and sometimes we do make mistakes.

We’re always trying to improve Nova FM so if you have a complaint please email us

and we’ll do our best to help you out.

  • What should I do if my reception is being ruined by a pirate radio station?
    • Nova FM broadcasts on frequencies allocated for our use by OFCOM.

If an unlicensed radio station is making it difficult for you to tune in to NOVA FM on FM then you should notify OFCOM from the OFCOM website. Walk the plank!

  • How can I get a job at Nova FM? Do you do work experience?
    • All of our team are volunteers, they do everything because they have a love for radio and Newport.

Work experience is something which Nova FM offers. Although, we need to be completely honest – it is very popular and we can only take on a select number of students each year.

If you think we’d be good working together, you can email us

and apply for our next vacant work experience placement.

  • Can you send me some merchandise?
    • We love that you want some of our bold blue merch. But unfortunately we can’t send out merchandise.

We give out branded items from time to time at our events, so that’s your best bet.

  • Can I have a studio tour?
    • Of course, if you are interested in radio and want to see where the magic happens, we’d love to invite you for a studio tour.

If you want to volunteer with us and become apart of our ever-growing team or just for a look around and a warm brew email us

  • I want to be a radio presenter, can you help?
    • We can, voluntary community radio is the best way to get into radio. Many of today’s well known radio presenters started with community and hospital radio.

Our best advice is to get as much experience as you can and build up a demo that you can send to Programme Directors. If you’d like advice from our presenters as to how they got started then you can e-mail using the format
