Another 60 trees planted as Newport project continues

Mayor Peter Scott has been pushing the Newport Tree Project aiming to grow 1,000 trees in the next five years.

“I started my Newport Tree Project partly to assist with climate change and partly because of the amount of trees lost around the area due to housing development. I decided that I wanted to plant 1,000 trees over five years.
