Newport’s Got Talent event launched

The very first Newport’s Got Talent event has been launched, and it will be hosted by a unicorn called Sparkle!
The event will take place on Saturday 16th March and will be open to any pupil at Haberdashers’ Adams, Burton Borough, or Newport Girls’ High School. Proceeds will go to VICTA, a charity supporting blind and visually impaired children and young adults.
Sparkle, played by an anonymous teacher from a local school, who is also running the London Marathon in April to raise funds, is looking for talented performers from any background: singers, dancers, magicians, gymnasts, and comedians.
A spokesperson for Haberdashers’ Adams said, “When Newport’s latest running sensation, Sparkle the Unicorn, approached us about hosting a brand-new event to showcase the immense talent we know exists in the town we were very happy to help.”
Auditions will be held on Friday 8 February. Application forms are available from the Haberdashers’ Adams website. Further information about rehearsals and tickets are also available on the form.
